Its size was about 1.5 inches and a maximum of 1.6 ounces. During the 19th century, the rubber ball was developed. After then, both rubber and resin are being used by the manufacturer.

Nowadays, maximum golf balls are made of rubber-coated and resin. Only the practice ball contains different types of materials.

Also, the ball must have some basic properties. The R&A and USGA published those rules as a document. The manufacturers must follow some criteria like ball radius, dimple depth, highest launch speed, and maximum range when launched. The governing bodies try to maintain a level playing field and the history of golf.

The main material of the core is rubber. But some ball’s center is liquid. There are three types of compression is available. 80 is the lowest compression, suitable for junior and women. 90 is for irregular golfers. and 100 is for tighter and professional golfers.

A high-compression ball is much harder. It can fly more distance because of the effective circulation of energy in the ball. It also creates more shock to the golfer’s hand.

A low-compression ball is soft. Its behavior is totally opposite of the high-compression. Generally, the maximum golfer prefers a low compression ball.

Dimple is a part of the design of modern golf balls. As we said earlier that a regular golf ball has almost 300-500 dimple. A record-holding ball contains about 1070 dimples, but it is exceptional. The maximum manufacturer tries to maintain the number of dimples between 300 to 500.

Are dimples can affect the game? Importance of golf ball dimples

Golf ball makers don’t use golf dimples for increasing outer look. There is a scientific logic behind the dimples.

According to science, a flat object moves to the air in a fluctuating process. So a golf ball would fly inconsistently through the air without dimples. It could affect the game.

But when dimples are added to the balls, they can fly much better through the air. The dimples create a little layer in the air around the golf balls so that the ball flight becomes so smooth. Dimples improve the playing skill.

For your kind information, this scientific logic is not only for golf balls but also for any object line car, etc.

Which ball you should choose?
